When it comes to picking some good TV shows to watch, Netflix’s STRANGER THINGS almost always make its way into the list.

Ranked as one of the best shows in television history, the Netflix original series tells the story of a group of kids in the peaceful town of Hawkins who found themselves encountering a series of paranormal events when one of their friends mysteriously disappeared. Together with the missing friend’s mother, Joyce Byers (played by Winona Ryder) and town’s police chief, Jim Hopper (played by David Harbour), they began on a quest to search for the missing person that eventually unfolds a dark secret conspired by the government.

Have you ever enjoyed a TV series so much that sometimes you actually cared about the wellbeing of the fictional characters? Take THE WALKING DEAD for example, back in 2015, some fans were shocked when one of the show’s fan-favourite character, Glenn Rhee (played by Steven Yeun) was seemingly devoured by a horde of undead. This led fans to speculate if Glenn really died and it took four episodes later to reveal that he survived. Sadly, the character is brutally killed off (for real this time) at the beginning of Season 7 and fans were once again left in a devastated state. Some fans actually cried when Glenn died. No, we’re serious! There are videos of fans’ reaction crying to a fictional character’s death!

Last year, STRANGER THINGS pulled off a similar act where police chief Jim Hopper, another beloved fictional character had seemingly met his fate during the final act of the third season finale. For more than half a year, fans debated if Hopper is truly gone. Some fans believed that the police chief is not out of the picture yet while some believed otherwise…

Well, the debate is over. In the recently released teaser trailer (titled ‘From Russia with love’) for Season 4, it is revealed that Hopper is somehow still alive. The involvement of the Russians served as a major plot for Season 3. This teaser confirms that Russians are not done yet as it shows that Hopper is now seemingly being enslaved in a camp by what looks like the Russian military, being forced to work on a railway bridge.

At this time, little information is known about STRANGER THINGS Season 4, including the release date. However, it is believed that it would premiere somewhere between the end of this year to mid of next year. In the meantime, fans can expect to see David Harbour returning in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie, BLACK WIDOW (2020).

Fans of STRANGER THINGS find this amusing yet ironic at the same time. That’s because in the third season, Harbour’s character met a Russian scientist by the name of Alexei who became an ally to the protagonists. Now, he is playing the Red Guardian (the Russian counterpart of Captain America) who also goes by the name of Alexei! This led some fans to joke that Hopper became a superhero after he was seemingly killed in Season 3.

BLACK WIDOW stars Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, O.T. Fagbenie, William Hurt, Rachel Weisz and David Harbour. Rumours are saying that we might also see the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark (a.k.a. Iron Man) in a brief/cameo appearance. The movie is expected to hit cinemas on 30th April 2020.
